The January release adds HDF support; later updates bring Monochrome support, power controls and an iOS 27 fix.

Ricoh released GR WORLD 1.2.0 on January 13, 2026. The update adds support for the GR IV HDF and places GR Gallery on the app’s Home screen, alongside a notification section in App Settings.[1]
The more substantial additions concern the GR IV workflow. Owners can update the camera’s firmware from the app, save Image Control parameters from photographs on the camera or in GR Gallery, and write saved settings back to the camera. Ricoh specifies GR IV firmware 1.04 or later for the Image Control save/write function. These functions are not supported by the GR III, GR IIIx or GR II; compatibility with the general app does not imply access to every new feature.[1]
Update — February 9: Version 1.3.0 adds GR IV Monochrome support and photographer works in GR Gallery. The preceding Android 1.2.1, released January 22, corrected mixed Japanese text on some Simplified Chinese devices.[1]
Update — June 19: Version 1.4.0 enables camera power-on/off control from the Home screen and includes bug fixes.[1]
Update — October 5: iOS version 1.4.1 fixes image import and smartphone-location transmission problems affecting GR WORLD 1.4.0 on iOS 27. This is the released correction following Ricoh’s September 18 issue notice.[1]
