Ricoh released THETA X firmware 2.94.0 on September 17, 2026. Its official change list specifies improved operational stability and minor functional improvements. This is maintenance for an existing camera; no new shooting mode or hardware change is listed.[1]
Earlier that month, on September 8, THETA Z1 received firmware 3.70.2. It changes the default automatic power-off interval from 12 to eight hours, improves wireless connectivity when launching the REMOTE CONTROL plug-in, and improves security and stability.[2]
For THETA X, client-mode WPA3-SAE support had already arrived in version 2.93.1 on August 25, alongside the default power-off change and security improvements. Those additions should not be dated to September 17.[3]
