Ricoh released firmware 2.93.1 for the RICOH THETA X on August 25, 2026. The update adds WPA3-SAE support in wireless LAN client mode and changes the default automatic power-off setting.[1]
In client mode, the camera connects to an existing wireless network. The new security option is relevant when setting up THETA X cameras on networks that use WPA3-SAE, including business environments where images are transferred through networked workflows.[1]
Ricoh changes the default “Auto power off” interval from 12 hours to 8 hours. Users configuring the camera for a working day should therefore check this power-management setting alongside their network configuration.[1]
The release also includes security improvements and a bug fix. Ricoh recommends updating to the newest firmware and links its official THETA X camera-update procedure from the release notice.[1]
