Ricoh announced the RICOH360 THETA A1 on June 3, 2025, initially scheduling its Japanese launch for early August. The 360-degree camera is designed for construction and other business workflows, and is supplied with services through the RICOH360 Business Package. The Japanese announcement specifies package sales rather than a camera-only retail offer.[1]
The A1 has an IP64 dust and splash rating and a metal tripod socket for frequent mounting. Ricoh describes operation for extended shooting in temperatures of 30–40°C, plus automatic cloud upload over wireless LAN even while the camera sleeps. Automatic noise reduction requires Auto shooting with the camera fixed on a tripod or similar support. Live streaming through RICOH Remote Field was still described as a planned Japanese service.[1]
The announcement also introduces the TB-1 rechargeable battery, rated at 1,485mAh, and the USB-C TJ-1 charger. Ricoh adopts the RICOH360 THETA brand name alongside the new model.[1]
Update — September 26, 2025: Ricoh’s Japanese notice explicitly confirms that the A1 and its dedicated accessories launched that day. This is the confirmed launch date, superseding the June announcement’s early-August plan. The accessories include TB-1, TJ-1 and the TP-2 lens protector. A1 units are delivered with TP-2 fitted; the protector can be removed if scratched to help keep work moving. Availability remains tied to the Japanese business package.[2]
