Ricoh GR firmware log: GR IV, GR III, GR IIIx
Ricoh's latest GR firmware: GR IV 1.11 (13 Feb 2026), GR IIIx 1.60 and GR III 2.10 (both 23 Oct 2025). What each version changed, from Ricoh's own pages.
This page tracks Ricoh's official firmware for the current GR cameras. Every line comes from Ricoh Imaging's download pages. When Ricoh posts a new version, we add it here and change the updated date at the top.
Modified firmware from GitHub is a different thing. It is not Ricoh's, and it can brick a camera. Those projects are on our GR tools page.
Latest versions, checked 11 Oct 2026
- GR IV and GR IV HDF: 1.11, released 13 Feb 2026.
- GR IIIx, GR IIIx HDF and GR IIIx Urban Edition: 1.60, released 23 Oct 2025.
- GR III, GR III HDF, GR III Street Edition and GR III Diary Edition: 2.10, released 23 Oct 2025.
Ricoh's GR IV firmware page names the GR IV and the GR IV HDF. It does not name the GR IV Monochrome, and neither the English nor the Japanese download list has a separate entry for it.
The GR IVx is still in development, so it has no firmware page. See what Ricoh has confirmed about the GR IVx.

1.11, 13 Feb 2026
- Adds the electronic shutter from the GR IV HDF to the GR IV. At F2.8 you can shoot at up to 1/16000 sec.
- The lens shutter still handles the slower speeds. From F2.8 to F4.0 it covers 1/2500 sec and slower. From F4.5 to F5.0, 1/3200 sec and slower. From F5.6 to F16, 1/4000 sec and slower. Faster speeds use the electronic shutter.
- Ricoh warns that the electronic shutter can show rolling shutter: fast subjects such as trains or cars may look slanted.
- General stability.
- It includes everything in 1.04 and earlier. You cannot go back to an older version afterwards.
Ricoh's Japanese page adds that the update can also be done from the GR WORLD app, version 1.2.0 or later. The English page describes only the microSD card method.
1.04, 28 Nov 2025
- Wireless switches off when the battery runs low, so it does not keep draining it.
- Charging control changed to reduce battery wear.
- Better pairing guidance when you register the camera in the GR WORLD app.
- General stability.
Ricoh posted a notice to GR IV owners the same day asking them to apply it.
1.03, 29 Oct 2025
- Adds a certification mark for Malaysia and updates the open-source license text. Ricoh had announced this change as 1.02 and released it as 1.03 because of the license update.
Our stories on these releases: GR IV firmware 1.11 and GR IV firmware 1.04.
GR IIIx

1.60, 23 Oct 2025
- Adds GF-2 Flash Mode, an exposure mode for the GF-2 external flash. It sets exposure from the focus distance, measured by AF or set by hand.
- Once it is turned on in the menu, the camera uses it in P, Av, Tv and M. Stills only.
- It can be assigned to ADJ mode or the Fn button. It does not work with Snap Distance Priority.
- The camera waits for the flash to recharge, so continuous and bracket shooting slow to about two seconds between shots.
- Ricoh notes that with ISO fixed, the mode has less room to correct exposure. The camera also cannot tell whether the GF-2 is switched off.
- General stability. The Urban Edition keeps its own power-off graphic.
1.50, 15 Jul 2025: works with the GR WORLD app. General stability.
1.42, 20 Feb 2025: SD card and general stability.
GR IIIx production is due to end with October 2026 shipments in Japan. See Ricoh GR IIIx production to end in October 2026.
GR III

2.10, 23 Oct 2025: the same GF-2 Flash Mode as GR IIIx 1.60, with the same limits. General stability. The Street Edition and Diary Edition keep their own power-off graphics.
2.00, 15 Jul 2025: works with the GR WORLD app. General stability.
1.92, 20 Feb 2025: SD card and general stability.
The GF-2 flash is on our accessories page, with what fits the GR IV, GR IIIx and GR III.
Before you update
The steps are on Ricoh's pages. Each page asks for a fully charged battery (DB-120 for the GR IV, DB-110 for the GR III and GR IIIx) or the K-AC166J AC adapter kit. Ricoh says that if the camera turns off during the update because the battery runs out, it will stop working, and the repair is charged even under warranty.
How we keep this page
We read Ricoh's English download pages, which date only the latest version. Dates for older versions come from Ricoh's Japanese pages, which date every version. We link only to Ricoh and do not host firmware files.
